The goals of the Institute are to encourage and support innovation and entrepreneurship on campus and in the community, and to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at Pitt among faculty, staff and students.

AlphaLab & AlphaLab Gear

 

AlphaLab is a catalyst for launching the next generation of software, entertainment technology and Internet-related companies. Created by Innovation Works, one of the nation’s most active seed-stage investors, AlphaLab provides funding, hands-on business assistance, access to a network of entrepreneurs and expert advisors, and free office space as part of an intensive program in Pittsburgh. AlphaLab helps companies rapidly develop their technology, gain user feedback from early product releases, develop go-to-market strategies, and move toward successful commercial launch.

Idea Foundry

 

Idea Foundry is a non-profit organization that supplies the critical ingredients for transforming an entrepreneur’s business idea into a Pennsylvania-based, fundable start-up. Enterprise Forum Pittsburgh

 

Enterprise Forum Pittsburgh is the region's leading networking organization for entrepreneurs. It produces the only business event series in Pittsburgh focused on the interests of entrepreneurs from all industries. Previously known as the MIT Enterprise Forum of Pittsburgh, the Enterprise Forum Pittsburgh refocused its name and graphic identity to reflect its commitment to the Pittsburgh region. However, the Enterprise Forum Pittsburgh actively maintains its connection to the global MIT Enterprise Forum and its chapters around the world.

TiE-Pittsburgh

 

TiE-Pittsburgh is a not-for-profit network of entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in the Pittsburgh region. The Pittsburgh chapter was founded in 2000, and currently has 32 charter members at its core. Members of TiE-Pittsburgh have created over 10,000 jobs in the Pittsburgh region and have brought in over $600M in venture capital investment.
